Game night. I lost in the worst way. The boys were pretty close for awhile but Beardy ended up winning. As usual.

Thanksgiving at my Aunt’s house. They have this amazing barn they renovated into a rec area when we were teenagers and now that we are all grown and have kids of our own they all ride bikes and play ball the whole night out there instead of bounce off the walls and break things inside! Since there are 15 great grandkids under the age of 10, it makes for a much better night if we host the evening in the barn! So, this is what our thanksgivings (and Christmas) look like! The last photo makes me laugh so hard. Look at little Drake’s face. He is playing a game on JJ’s iPod and it is cracking up at something!
(I don’t know why my photos turned out this way, they lighting in the barn is weird but I have never had this happen before. It’s disappointing.)

YOU GUYS! In my hectic life, I forgot to post this. The weekend of my 30th birthday, my wonderful and fantastic husband threw me a surprise birthday party. I really hadn’t wanted to do anything for my birthday but it was a truly pleasant surprise to see how many people showed up and cared about me and wanted to help celebrate the end of my twenties and start a new decade!!
I have the best husband and friends!

birthday study date with my hubster while the boy scout is out practicing building campfires with his fellow weebelo brethren. Then we feast for my 30th birthday!
Tomorrow the girls are coming over after psych clinical to stuff our faces with fro yo, margaritas and laugh til we cry while watching Bridesmaids. CANNOT WAIT.

I just spent an hour talking to one of my girlfriends. We are both in nursing school and will be working together at the hospital.
She was asking how I wanted my work schedule to go and how we were going to schedule study time in too.
I informed her I am not sure how I am going to make it all work but I’ll manage somehow. Between work, school, JJ’s school and his soccer schedule…I don’t know how I’m going to make it work. I’ll muddle through like I have in the past.
She then launched into this huge lecture on how she’s worried about me and how I’m going to cope and tried to remind me how important this semester is and how many people fail it.
I understand the importance. I also understand my family needs to eat, my family needs to have their fun too, my family is most important. She doesn’t have kids, she doesn’t know what it’s like to see your child want to be involved in school activities and how it feels to tell them “no, you can’t play because I’m too busy working and studying”. How is that fair?
So, I’ll put my cape on and become supermom for another semester. I’ll be tired & I’ll be stressed but I’ll be there for my family.

I love leaning against my husband’s legs and having my son laying on the ground with his head propped on my lap watching the fireworks every year. I’m so thankful for all that I have been blessed with. Freedom and love. What more can a girl ask for?
